  1. Text  Nokia announces 5530 XpressMusic, E72, 3710 Fold 2 years ago

The pictures you see above are the newly revealed handsets by Nokia. Those are (from left to right) Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, Nokia E72, and Nokia 3710 Fold.

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is the third S60 5th edition and full-touch phone of the Finnish company, following the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and Nokia N97. Jayvee Fernandez has reported that this new phone will only retail for 200 Euros or approximately Php 13,000, as compared to the two touch-screen phones that are more expensive. This, of course, has slight differences in features.

Nokia E72 is the successor of 2008’s Nokia E71 that follows the designs of Nokia E52 and Nokia E55. It’s pretty much the same as with its predecessor, but has a new optical Navi key that serves as an optical trackpad for going through menus and applications. This phone is expected to begin shipping late in the third quarter of 2009. It still has, as seen above, a full QWERTY keypad and 2.4” QVGA landscape screen.

Nokia 3710 Fold is a mid-range phone that runs on the usual S40 user interface, but with nicer features and photo gallery that’s brought about by the 2.2-inch 16M color QVGA display. It also has a 3 megapixel auto focus camera and a GPS receiver with Nokia Maps.

All these and more were announced in the recently concluded Nokia Connection 2009 in Singapore. Jayvee’s wonderful blog made it easier for us to read through the things that happened in SG.
