How many of you are Smart users? I just recently purchased a Smart mobile number just for the hang of using another network. Besides, my mom, dad, driver, maid, manager, etc. are Smart users, so it would be a good thing for me to actually use a network the same as theirs.

Browsing through their website, I suddenly saw a link to the Web Portal. This portal allows prepaid users to actually see a lot of things concerning their mobile number, such as Balance Inquiry (both the actual load and free texts, if any), PUK Code (if your phone is PUK blocked), Call and Text Card Status Inquiry (for you to know if a certain prepaid card is new or has been consumed), and Service Request Status (for checking of service requests). Also, this portal allows you to instantly request for the activation of services, such as International Roaming, Voicemail, and MMS/GPRS/3G. Cool isn’t it? All you have to do is register.

I love Smart’s innovation and initiative of actually creating such a portal to easen the burden of consumers. This is a great way of using technology in helping people do things faster. For those who are always online, you can just check statuses and request for activation of services by just a click of a finger, rather than dialing through Smart’s hotline where you still need to wait for a customer service representative to attend to you. Kudos to Smart!

I’m wondering why Globe has not done this yet… Or is there such a thing for Globe subscribers?
